According to a recent tweet from Xiaomishka. Xiaomi is going to launch its new Redmibooks (Laptops). Xiaomi is planning on launching a RedmiBook 13, RedmiBook 14S, and RedmiBook 16 with APUs from AMD’s all-conquering Renoir series.
Xiaomishka mentioned on his tweet.
“So this month with the new #Redmi #5G smartphones will also be launched some #RedmiBook‘s 13 / 14S / 16. All products are equipped with a Ryzen 5 processor, which is almost certainly R5 4500U, and all products are equipped with 16GB of memory”
AMD designed Ryzen 4500U chips for thin laptops. The processor is an APU of course with the 2.3 (guaranteed base clock) to 4 GHz (Turbo) without SMT / Hyperthreading support. The chip has 6cores and 6 threads and manufactured in the modern 7 nm process at TSMC. Compared to the similar Ryzen 5 4600U.
the APU also integrates a Radeon RX Vega 6 integrated graphics card with 6 CUs and up to 1500 MHz. The dual-channel memory supports DDR4-3200 and energy efficient LPDDR4-4266 RAM. 8 MB level 3 cache can be found on the chip.
Let us come back to the Redmibook, there could be 3different models based on size, and we can also find some good vibrant display, 16GB RAM, and a decent amount of SSD inside the laptop but the prices at 9,999 yuan (US$1,413). but I’m not sure about that because Xiaomi was always known for their aggressive low pricing.
